Sheboygan Highlights Tour

Day 1
Begin your morning…

Begin your morning at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, a contemporary art museum in the heart of downtown. A docent-led tour showcases this gem of a museum. Don’t forget to check out the Art Center’s famous restrooms, where every surface is a canvas. Stretch your legs as you walk a block over to The Black Pig for lunch. Serving comfort food with a twist, the ambience and friendly service will entice you to stay for a while.

Your afternoon continues…

Visit Relish Kitchen Store for one of their cooking classes, ranging from basic knife skills to gourmet dinners – there is a class for everyone. Not enough time for a class? Browse through the wide selection of quality kitchen brands and innovative tools you are sure to cherish for years to come. Relish is the only authorized retailer to sell Sheboygan manufactured, Vollrath commercial-quality kitchen products, to the public. Retail therapy at its finest! The Stephanie H. Weill Center for the Performing Arts has been lovely restored to the grandeur of yesteryear. Designed in the Spanish Colonial Revival architectural style, the unique style stands out and just begs to be seen. Many local, regional and national acts tour here each year, and a docent-guided tour brings it all to life for you.

Finish off your night…

Check in to your hotel for a night of relaxing around the pool, take a walk along the shores of Lake Michigan, or see what the local entertainment is at the new City Green event space. With a variety of free entertainment scheduled each week, you never know what may be happening in the vibrant downtown district.

Day 2

Breakfast is served at your hotel or stop at one of the many cafes downtown featuring farm-to-table, organic foods. For those who have a love of children’s stories or appreciate a beautifully landscaped area, this morning you are in for a special treat at Bookworm Gardens. This whimsical botanical garden brings books to life, one garden at a time. You will be amazed at the thoughts that go into planning each new exhibit. Hidden in the ravine off the beaten path, it is a treasured asset in the community. With scenic views of Lake Michigan and the marina, lunch is served at the Sheboygan Yacht Club. After lunch, take time to actually be on the Lake when you partake in a sailing lesson from Sail Sheboygan or take in the latest craze, SUP, stand-up-paddle boarding. These big, surf-board style boards are easy to maneuver, even for beginners. Set sail this afternoon as you depart Sheboygan and the Lake Michigan area for home.
